Boston Pizza RDP Athlete of the Week for January 27, 2025

Owen Langberg, a six-foot-six middle, played a key role in helping the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Volleyball earn a pair of hard-fought victories in Medicine Hat. On Friday, the talented student-athlete recorded five kills, five blocks and two service aces in the Kings’ four set win over the Rattlers (21-25, 25-15, 25-22 and 25-23). Langberg led the Kings with a +9 rating.

Then on Saturday, Rocky Mountain House’s Langberg (Open Studies) accumulated five kills, five blocks, two aces and a pair of huge digs for the Kings. The RDP Kings earned another victory in four sets (19-25, 25-23, 25-10 and 25-16). He finished with an impressive +11 rating. For his outstanding play, Langberg was named the Kings Player of the Game.

Next, Langberg and the Kings will play the SAIT Trojans.

In only his second year, Langberg has been establishing himself as one of the top middles in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Men’s Volleyball.
