The Red Deer College Volleyball teams will face the SAIT Trojans in a home-and-home series this weekend. The basketball squads will face the Kodiaks in Lethbridge in a pair of games. The RDC Queens Hockey team will compete against the NAIT Ooks and the Hockey Kings will play the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings.
Here is a summary of what is happening this week in RDC Athletics.
Queens Volleyball | Friday, January 12 | 6:00 p.m. | RDC
The second place Queens (11-3) will host the fifth place SAIT Trojans (6-8). The RDC Queens are on a roll and have seven consecutive match victories. Libero Kaylee Domoney, a second-year Business Administration Human Resources student, has totaled 182 digs which ranks fourth in the league.

The venue will shift to the SAIT campus as the Trojans will host the Queens.
Kings Volleyball | Friday, January 12 | 8:00 p.m. | RDC
The Red Deer College Kings (9-5) will compete against the SAIT Trojans (12-2) in the RDC Main Gym in what should be a very entertaining match. The Kings are tied for second place with the Medicine Hat College Rattlers, Briercrest College Clippers and Lethbridge College Kodiaks. All four teams have 18 points while the Trojans lead the south with 24 points.
The Trojans have some offensive weapons. Trent Mounter leads the league with 3.73 kills per set and teammate Spencer Coulter is close behind with 3.47. Adam Turlejski, of the Kings, has been strong at the net and ranks second in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Men's Volleyball with 0.81 blocks per set.

The Kings will look to pick up a road victory against the Trojans in Calgary.
Queens Basketball | Friday, January 12 | 6:00 p.m. | Lethbridge College
The RDC Queens (2-5) enter 2018 with a healthier lineup and they will compete against the Lethbridge College Kodiaks (3-4) on the road. The Queens have been strong on the boards and have averaged 43.3 rebounds per game.

The Queens' weekend two game set will wrap up in Lethbridge.
Kings Basketball | Friday, January 12 | 8:00 p.m. | Lethbridge College
The Kings (3-4) will face the Kodiaks (4-3) in Lethbridge. Omon Edobar leads the RDC Kings with an average of 22 points per game. The Kings are gifted offensively and have scored 91.1 points per game over seven contests.

The Kodiaks will host the Kings in a rematch.
Queens Hockey | Thursday, January 11 | 7:00 p.m. | NexSource Centre
In Sylvan Lake, the RDC Queens (9-3-2-0) will host the NAIT Ooks (11-2-1-0). NAIT and MacEwan University share top spot in ACAC Women's Hockey with 23 points. The Queens sit next with 20 points.
Prior to the break, the Queens went 7-3 in their past 10 games and own the best penalty kill (93.9%). Goaltender Tracie Kikuchi holds the best save percentage (0.946) and the second best goals against average (1.40) in ACAC Women's Hockey. Jade Petrie, of the Queens, and Kendra Hanson, of the Ooks, share top spot in scoring with 13 points.

In Camrose, the second place RDC Kings (11-4-1-0) will hit the ice against the (tied for) third place University of Alberta Augustana Vikings (9-5-2-0). Goaltender Troy Trombley has the third best save percentage (0.919) and third best goals against average (2.61) in the league.

In a rematch, the Kings will host the Vikings.
